Two-Stage Cooling
Two-stage air conditioners are designed to evenly and consistently cool your home. Most single-stage air conditioners provide one cold air temperature, resulting in frequent starts and stops and greater temperature extremes in the home. A Premium, two-stage air conditioner begins cooling at a lower intensity, lowering the temperature only as needed to cool your home.

Premium air conditioners provide easy access to the outdoor coils, so that they are easily accessed by the homeowner for cleaning.
Warranty
United offers Premium efficiency air conditioners with a 10-year limited warranty on the compressor, and 5- to 10-year warranty on parts. Extended warranties are also available for greater peace of mind.

R-410A Refrigerant vs. R-22
Most Premium model air conditioners use a refrigerant called R-410A rather than traditional R-22. R-410A is an ozone-safe refrigerant designed to replace R-22, the refrigerant flowing through most of today’s air conditioners. The EPA has mandated that by 2010, all new air conditioners must use R-410A, and that by 2020, R-22 will no longer be produced. Based upon the amount of time you plan to be in your present home, it may make sense for you to install an R-410A based system now and avoid the scarcity and high prices of R-22 down the road.
